Overview

The Helpdesk Translation feature lets you communicate with clients in their preferred language, even if you don't speak it. Write your response in your language, and O'Toolkit translates it before sending — all within the Odoo helpdesk interface.

Requires Helpdesk module

This feature requires the Odoo Helpdesk module to be installed. It is available in Odoo Enterprise edition.

How to translate a helpdesk ticket

Step 1: Open a ticket

  1. Go to Helpdesk → open a ticket from a client
  2. O'Toolkit automatically detects the customer's language from their message
  3. You'll see the detected language displayed near the ticket

Step 2: Compose your response

  1. Write your response in your own language — as you normally would
  2. Don't worry about translation at this stage, focus on your message

Step 3: Translate and send

  1. Click the "Translate" button next to the send button
  2. Review the translated version
  3. Click "Send" — the translated message is sent to the client

Both versions are saved

O'Toolkit saves both your original message and the translated version in the ticket history. This way, your team can always see what was actually said.

Reading incoming messages

When a client sends a message in their language, O'Toolkit can also translate it for you:

  1. Open the ticket with the client's message
  2. Click the "Translate" button on the incoming message
  3. The translated version appears below the original message

Supported workflows

  • You → Client — Write in your language, send in theirs
  • Client → You — Read their message translated to your language
  • Multi-language teams — Each agent sees translations in their own language

No language barrier

With helpdesk translation, you can support clients in any language without hiring multilingual agents. Each translation costs ~2-4 tokens.
